So this is why people teach...

Last Thursday I went to the Yes I Can awards ceremony to watch one of my old Life Skills students receive an award. Those of you who know anything about my time in Norway House will have probably heard of Arthur. He came to Life Skills everyday we always had a great time. He is fluent in Cree and he made me laugh every day!

 I was so happy to see him again and watch him get his award, it was amazing to see what 10 months in Life Skills can do to an "outsider" kid.

As we sat through the award ceremony we had many funny conversations, some involving pirhanas and swimming pools. Before I left he said to me "so, when are you coming back to work?" Wow, way to tug at my heart strings, Arthur.
He is back in Norway House now, after his big trip to the city, probably going around asking people "do you know what happened last Thursday?"
