Quilt Surgery - Before & After

A few weeks ago I was asked to fix a quilt for someone who's mom had started it, got Alzheimer's and couldn't finish it. I agreed to fix it, thinking it would be a good challenge and it was. The quilt was in serious need of some TLC, it had pieces missing and stitches ripped. Here is the quit when I first got it:

Thank you Zoe for helping with pinning!

I added new borders on, fixed up missing stitches, and backed the quilt with warm, green flannel. Here it is freshly washed and ready for a bed!

I've never sewn a quilt that wasn't my own work from start to finish, and while at some times it was frustrating it was also a rewarding experience to bring a quilt back to life.
